Escape Winter For 3 Minutes
Who somehow goes through life blissfully ignorant of how outrageously cold it is?
You’re standing next to them in three layers of clothing and a coat, maybe some thermals, and you don’t care if you’re sweating into them a little because your skin was never designed to withstand this kind of icy madness.
The good news: we’ve got a button that’ll take you straight to summer.
This summer, you’ll be wearing the first ever Yes Friends embroidered design.
But first, you have to tell us what the design is.
These were created by Charlie. She likes the sea and the sun.
And she’s got this skill: She can make summer joy appear anywhere. Even on a tiny part of your chest.
The designs are barely bigger than the icecube in your first early-June Pina Colada or Lime Margarita.
One look will make you want to take a sip.
So grab a sunlounger, tap the flaming hot orange button below, and vote for the motif that’ll look best on you.
Plus, you might win a £50 Yes Friends voucher in the process (Christmas is over but the gifts aren’t).
GO TO SUMMER
Until now, Yes Friends has steered clear of graphics.
We wanted to make quality, ethical clothing affordable, and we did it with big batches of classics you can wear anytime.
A hoodie you might live in on your next duvet day.
Or a jacket for a casual coffee date with Ariane Grande (one day, maybe).
A lot of the reason ethical fashion is so expensive (elsewhere, not here) is you’re paying for designer-graphics and small batches.
But sometimes a bit of artistry goes a long way – and you told us you wanted this. And we listened.
Here's the lowdown:
1. We've found a way to make graphics affordable. Our fair trade factory can do embroidery in-house, and they’re happy to turn around some smaller batches alongside our big, classic orders.
2. We brought someone special in to design for this project. Her name is Charlie Taylor.
Anyone remember lockdown?
A lot of us had time on our hands (unless you were looking after kids – kudos if you were).
Some of us picked up the guitar and others got really, really good at Candy Crush. For my part, I learned to do a handstand.
Charlie was dreaming of travel, but she was stuck home like the rest of us, so she said, “I’m going to try painting just for fun and not for work”.
She began with florals (she was used to painting traditional patterns for fashion brands in London) but then her subconscious kicked in.
“Holidays are just always in the back of the mind”
Soon cocktails replaced the snowdrops, and paisley patterns made way for summer seas.
Charlie realised she loved making designs that capture everyone’s moments and memories of travel – and so she came up with ideas that would be “a little bookmark of where you’ve been.”
Now lockdown is long gone, so she’s flying over the world to places like Portugal or Bali or the Majel Gardens of Morocco,
And the next day she’s lying on a sunlounger (taking one for the team) and jotting down ideas from what she’s seen.
That’s what went into Charlie’s Yes Friends designs. She tells us “It’s nice to work on something where I’m like ‘I'd want to wear that.’”
Charlie lives in the North of England, so naturally she always wants to run away to the sun.
And choosing between her designs, you’ll feel like you’re running away with her.
