Our first winter coat

Our first winter coat

Winter, you can’t touch this...

Gusts of North Easterly wind? Ice on the pavement? Trapped in an igloo with Elsa, Frozone and Jack Frost?

We now officially have you covered. Today, we’re releasing our first true piece of outerwear – based on our bestselling canvas jacket, with all the qualities you loved the first time: big utility pockets, cheeky embroidery, sumptuous organic cotton.

But this time the canvas is waaay thicker – and way cosier too.

This is a double lined jacket. Like two coats in one. Maybe even three.

It feels like you’re being hugged by a chic Paddington Bear.

It’s recycled fleece on the inside, organic canvas on the outside. And it’s got puffa-jacket style recycled insulation in the middle. It’s finished with burnished metal buttons, each bearing the Yes Friends logo.

It’s absolutely the most substantial thing we’ve ever made.

When you put this on, it might as well be springtime on your upper body, this jacket is not going to give winter one inch.

A better way to lose your coat

Our friend Sam (not founder Sam) has been distracted recently.

He’s a man of expensive taste. As if he’s Gordon Ramsey and everything he buys is an ingredient in a dish he’s making.

He’s not rich. He's just very selective.

But recently, he’s been leaving his expensive things behind everywhere.

His overpriced water bottle – he left that in a crowded pub in London.

His overpriced Lord of the Rings models – he left those in a toilet in Almondsbury.

His overpriced coat – he left it on a train bound for Bristol Temple Meads.

Worse, he almost turned around on the train platform. He experienced that ‘I feel like I’ve forgotten something’ feeling, but then checked his belongings and thought, ‘nope, I’ve got everything.’

He did not have everything.

In his defence, he’s been distracted recently. He’s got a new girlfriend in London – if you’re his friend and he hasn’t told you yet, this is his very roundabout way of telling you the news.

How can we help this distracted guy out?

Well, our friend Sam held our new lined canvas jacket in his hands, and it passed his Gordon Ramsey taste test.

He reckons it’s just as warm and beautiful as the coat he left behind…  but this time he’d be paying Yes Friends prices.

So if he does happen to leave it on a train bound for Bristol Temple Meads – and the lost and found team aren’t playing ball – he can rest a little easier. Because now he can replace it without parting with his life savings.

If you’re not sure how we make such a premium, ethical coat so affordable, here’s the lowdown:

Because we’re committed to changing the fashion industry over our bank account, and because we deliver direct to you with no middle-men markups, we’re able to charge less and commit to good wages for garment workers.

That means our lined canvas jacket is ethical, sustainable, and the same price as Sam’s train ticket to see his new girlfriend.
