Save the date. Kind of.

We have an exciting announcement
But first, we have an unexciting announcement.
We still feel compelled to tell you.
Last week, Hope (our designer) announced she’d bought our team Yes Friends mugs!
No, it’s not exciting.
These aren’t even available for purchase.
But you need to understand...
For the last few weeks, there’s been a dormant kettle in our office…
It’s been tucked in the corner like a forgotten decoration or a naughty kid.
It’s not seen tea. Or coffee. Or any form of caffeinated joy.
But last week we finally turned it on, and poured boiling water into branded mugs, and sipped on a peppermint brew.
We felt like we’d passed some kind of milestone at Yes Friends.
The kettle is in use. We have branded mugs. Caffeine can hit our systems.
As unexciting as that sounds, it still feels significant for a tiny brand like ours.
The good news is we have another announcement.
The new collection is coming (finally!)
Look, we know it’s been quiet. We brought our Canvas Jacket launch forward a few weeks so we’d have something to send your way – and from the way the Pine Green sold out in just 24 hours after launch (there’s a few in Ecru left!) it’s probably safe to say it’s time for a new collection.
The good news is it’s time for a new collection (almost).
And we have a date for you (kind of).
Save the date: mid-to-late April-ish
We’d love to be more exact. But this is the timeline we’ve got from our shipping company.
So tell all your friends: mid-to-late April-ish is going to be a time to be alive.
People will remember mid-to-late April-ish as the day that the good deals landed. When the ethical fashion industry got a bit more affordable – and Ferraris landed in their hands for the price of Fiestas.
This summer, we’re not just talking new fits, colours and shapes (although we are talking new fits, colours and shapes).
We’re also talking new material (how does linen look on you?)
And new every-occasion fashion from wide legged trousers and all new chino shorts, to our first ever dress (launching later in summer).
All made by Mihir and his team in their solar-assisted factory.
On that note, Mihir told us some stories recently.
About how our garment workers are spending the Yes Friends bonus and tips you give.
Allow us to introduce you to four tailors: Ravishankar, Rajiv, Jahrudeen and Sharvan.
With your tips, Ravishankar bought a microwave for his family. Rajiv’s running-loving son is now the proud owner of a pair of sports shoes. Jahrudeen got a phone for his daughter so she can stay in touch while she’s staying in a different town. And Sharvan bought a woollen blanket for his elderly mother who really needed the extra warmth to keep her safe and comfortable through the Delhi winter.
So in case you’re wondering if it made much difference when you bought that T-shirt or tank top and threw in a little extra, let these stories speak to you. Thank you for tipping these talented tailors.
These kinds of stories don’t exist in most of the fashion industry.
But fashion doesn’t need to be expensive to make it happen.
Last we checked, it only costs 15-20p extra per T-shirt to pay a living wage to a garment worker in India. And with your tips on top, it all adds up to make the stories you’ve just read possible.
Thank you for joining us on the journey, as together we transform the fashion industry 🧡
YF.
P.S. Things to do while waiting for the new collection
We’ll see you in mid-to-late April-ish. Put it in your diary and don’t forget it.
In the meantime, you can always put the kettle on and think of the Yes Friends mugs you can’t order.
Or you can check out the last of the Ecru jackets (that might be a better idea).
Or you can catch the hot new film our friend Matthew captured about our jackets in Hong Kong 👇
