A cryptic request (or two)

A cryptic request (or two)

Every few months, you tell us what to make next. If you’re new around here, this is a big ingredient in the Yes Friends secret sauce.

We sound you out on our latest ideas: skirts, jackets, shorts, patterns, fabrics, colours – and now’s your chance to pick your favourites.

We haven’t forgotten you – whether you’re 64 or a goth.

You’ve asked us for many things that we went ahead and did something about.

“Sportswear maybe one day?”

“If you make dresses PLEASE put pockets in them!!”

“Please please please make thin, but non-see through linen trousers that have very long legs”

It was the third “please” that did it for the linen trousers. We had to make them.

This is your chance to be heard.

The friend who said, “don't forget us goths and having black options”, we can tell you, black is still very much on the menu (this may or may not be related to the denim launch that’s coming next month).

And those four people out there asking for dad caps, you are seen. And that’s not counting the person who only put the character in the answer box. F does look like a dad cap turned on its side, and perhaps that’s what they were trying to say.

We can’t fulfil every cryptic dad-cap request, but together your voice determines what happens at Yes Friends.

Even the friend who told us… “I’m not saying because I’m nearly 64 and although I love what I buy from you (and your ethics), I’d prefer to leave it to your younger customers to choose so you get more sales.”

We’d still love to hear from you.

Now’s your chance, friends. And as a small thank you, you’ll be entered into a competition to win an £100 gift voucher, just tap the flaming hot orange button below 👇

A longwinded and totally necessary P.S.

Not long ago, we asked you about graphics...

Some of you gave us a very easy brief –  for example, “Any image without straight borders/edges”

But some of you pushed the boat out into wilder waves. Like this one…

“A sloth, or an axolotl”

A sloth is unanimously cool – that’s clear to anyone who has seen Ice Age, Zootropolis or Planet Earth 2, episode one, 3 mins 22 seconds in, when an island sloth goes swimming. It can hold its breath for 40 minutes. 40 minutes! I mean, that sloth is worth a T-shirt somewhere, even if it’s not Yes Friends.

But what in the world is an axolotl?

After a short trip to Google, we found out it’s one of these…

No, it’s not a Pokemon. It’s an amphibious fellow found near Mexico.

It’s pretty niche, but that wasn’t the only niche request we received…

“things that are so hyper-specific that it’s nearly universal bc it’s kind of absurd?”

The Axolotl is definitely headed that direction. And we can probably take it further.

“More bikes!” said the person who just doesn’t get enough bike on their commute. Perhaps Yes Friends can fill in that gap.

Someone else chipped in: “Cartoon characters with a message…not Donald Duck, something Original!”

If we combined all these ideas together, we might land on something like this…

Could this be the new Yes Friends mascot?

If you ask us for it, we might be powerless to make anything else.
