BREAKING NEWS: Yes Friends return to release new album, including hot new single: Wide Leg Linen Trousers

We’ve always wanted to say this…

We’ve been working on some new material.

Yeah, it makes us sound like we’re some throwback band from the early noughties. 

Like we went dark for a few years.

Like we took a hiatus to rediscover our sound. 

Like we’re planning a reunion tour.

And a reporter spotted us walking out of some bar in Brixton, it was raining and they could barely make out our faces but they saw we were together again and thought, ‘could it be?’ 

“What’s happening?” The reporter asked.

“Well,” we said. “We’ve been working on some new material.”

“Tell us more!” they said.

And we lean forward and push down our shades so they can see our eyes twinkle.

“It’s called linen.” 

This material has a sound, and it’s swish.

Honestly, this stuff has serious swish potential.

We’re a long way from rock-and-roll famous, but...

There’s a lot to say about these linen trousers.

First of all: They have pockets.

Second: They’re made of 25% linen and 75% EcoVero™️ – a great alternative to conventional viscose*.

*Viscose makes linen more supple and well, swishy. It’s made from wood, a bit like how some socks are made from bamboo (ever been given a pair for Christmas?).

We've opted for EcoVero™️ a more sustainable viscose – the wood is grown in responsibly grown forests, and the process uses 50% less water and emits 50% less CO2. So it’s not only your legs that breathe easy.

Liberation from tiny handbags aside, we should probably talk about the material side of things.

We’ve never released anything that’s not cotton. 

Ever since our first ethical T-shirt four years ago, Yes Friends = cotton.

And it’s been the kind of cotton with thread counts to make you croon like this:

Linen is a whole new kind of fabric for us, but it’s got the same material lushness you know us for.
