Sometimes you want a bit of extravagance in life.
But social conventions say otherwise.
Apparently, you don’t bring fireworks to a coffee catchup. Even if you haven’t seen your friend since last Thursday and you think it’s worth commemorating the moment.
And apparently you don’t take handfuls of confetti onto the street and throw it over passing couples, even if they’re holding hands.
And you shouldn’t wear fancy dress to the operating theatre to celebrate your first day on the job as a surgeon (unless you’re our founder’s three-year-old niece, who believed her princess dress would be a suitable doctor’s outfit if she also wore a pair of glasses – and we don’t think any patient would disagree).
They say wanting to wear something isn’t enough… supposedly you need to pick the right occasion.
But we’re not going to take this kind of advice lying down.
So we did something we’ve never done before.
We made our first ever dress.
And it’s one you can wear anywhere, anytime.
Introducing, the every-occasion linen wrap dress.
This is a dress that’s ready for anything… for a quick weekend in Amalfi or for strawberry picking in Devon, for weddings and parties and beaches and picnics and dates and cinema nights and festivals and brunches.
Dress it up or dress it down, they'll never be able to say you don’t look the part.
It’s one for your bridesmaids and one for a throwback-showing of Bridesmaids.
You could be standing in some 1920s garden party, with Leonardo Di Caprio over by the stairwell raising a glass of summer Champagne.
Or you could be standing beneath a striped awning in the light summer rain, eating chips at the end of a spontaneous city break.
In case you have any doubts, here are the details…
One. This dress has pockets… and we mean pockets you can actually put things in. So you’ve got somewhere to put your keys, your lippy, or your matches to light those coffee date fireworks.
Two. This is a real functioning wrap dress… it uses a classic tie, not buttons, so you can always find the perfect fit for your waist. Basically, this dress gives the best hugs.
Three. The material is a Linen-EcoVero™️ blend that feels light and lovely in the warmest of weathers. We’ve chatted about EcoVero™️ before, but it’s a kind of viscose that uses 50% less water, emits 50% less CO2, and relies only on responsibly grown forests. EcoVero™️ is derived from wood, but once you blend it with linen it feels a little more like silk.
So even if you’re the kind of person who likes to change into your comfies the moment you arrive home, you might find this dress is the “aaannd… relax” feeling you’re looking for.
As always, it’s made in a solar assisted factory by garment workers paid good wages.
And it’s made for whatever moment you want.
DRESS FOR THE OCCASION
P.S. Congrats Pete and Libby
Just wanted to give a little shout out to Pete and Libby who are getting married this month.
We’ve never met them but they love Yes Friends so much that they sent our entire team the most beautiful wedding invite.
It was only an ordinary Wednesday morning, but they turned the moment into an occasion.
And if only Edinburgh was closer to Bristol, we’d have been at the ceremony in a heartbeat, throwing confetti in a socially acceptable context.
Pete, Libby. This dress goes out to you.
